Description

The New York Times Bestselling author of the On Dublin Street series and Hero returns to Scotland in this passionate and evocative romance about love, loss, and surviving both. Nora O’Brien chased a dream from Indiana to Scotland, so sure it was the right thing to do. Three years later she was left in her adopted country with nothing to her name but guilt and regret.Until Aidan Lennox entered her life.Older, worldlier, a music producer and composer, the sexy Scot should never have made sense for Nora. But somehow in each other they found the light they were looking for, the laughter and the passion—the strength to play on despite their past losses. But when life dealt Aidan another unlucky hand, instead of reaching for her he disappeared. The agonizing loss of him inspired something within Nora. It fired her spirit— the anger and hurt pushing her forward to take control and reach for her dreams. Finally pursuing a career on stage while she put herself through college, everything is how Nora wants it. She’s avoiding heartbreak and concentrating on her goals.Sounds easy but it’s not. Because Aidan is back. And for some reason he hates Nora. He’s determined to be at war with her.And she has absolutely no idea why.

Where do I even begin? Consumed? Heartbroken? Put back together? Love? Feels? I can’t even? Yes to all of the above. I jumped in blind because HELLO it is Samantha Young. Holy canolis, was I not expecting to get my heart ripped only for it to be placed back together piece by piece and left even more full than it started off with. The emotions you feel in this book are seriously UNREAL. I felt every scene as I was living it as I was in Scotland waiting for Aidan to pick me up in his Range Rover lol. Sylvie oh my gosh she was a breath of fresh air and the end gutted me. Teary eyed for days lol. I see kids now a days being so selfish and to see one in a book even that is mature beyond her age is just perfect. The book is split into three parts and after part one I had to take a break. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. My heart was beating fast and I was just in shock. Just no way. Jim and Nora were solid and just the way they meet and got together was just straight up FAIRYTALE! When I founf he was dead I broke and read the blurb and I am like AIDAN! Who is this tall dark and handsome stranger! I knew I shouldn't have read the blurb but I did and it made me more depressed lol! We fast forward a couple of years and she is miserable AGAIN! I was wondering why she didn’t say I love you back or jump right away into saying yes to marrying him. Her relationship with her parents was hard to hear after she lost Mel she was just completely devastated. That is another thing I felt like the wind was so symbolic throughout the whole book. Like before she went to Scotland and visited Mel, when Aidan she is at the hospital, before she goes to the theatre. That was perfect. Then the way her and Aidan meet is insane! The way Samantha writes is PURE MAGIC! You feel every emotion and you want to get to the end but then you don't because you can never read a story again for the first time EVER! I digress lol.Part two was slowly building up to the climax and I couldn't read fast enough to get to Part three. OH! Laine HATE FIRE HATE FIRE HATE FIRE. I don't think I could loathe someone more! I am glad though Nora pulled through and set out to accomplish what she wanted. Her reconcile with her mom was so surreal because they never really had closure and I can’t believe her dad passed away ad that her mom stuck by him all those years. I am glad Nora didn't take the path like her dad and rose above adversity. The way Slyvie was taken away and how Aidan didn't want to open up to Nora that hurt so bad and then the TEXT! No no no no no no. Then they are separated for 18 months! MY LIFE!!!!! That was hard to read! And when he finally comes back he is mean broody jerk face!!! BUT! OMGGGGGGG Swooning about Roddy and Soenaid just that was just the comic relief the story needed from all its INTENSITY ahhhhh. I am glad she had her in her life and that she understood Nora and Jim’s relationship. Angie and Jan were amazing too and Jack made me laugh. He reminded me of the Jack from Hartwell before he went rogue lol. Then in theatre with Aidan saying the things he did oh my gosh. GUT WRENCHING! I knew it would be explosive but sheesh. I am glad he more than made up for it because OUCH! I am glad Seonaid went and set him straight and then Laine comes back again while they are going at it! Just ugh biggest c*ck block if I ever saw one lol. I am glad Aidan set her straight and just everything about this story was amazing. It was NOT EASY but ooooooooh SO SO SO SO WORTH IT! I am ready for MORE!!!!! Lol Gah I am probably missing some important deets but I am beyond shocked still and someone please take me to Scotland ASAP! Sighhhh goals on goals lol
