We've had this gate for several months now without incident. Our little guy is now 10 months old and has been playing in it for about 3 months. He's standing up and holding onto it, shaking the gate pieces etc. Haven't had any issues with him getting stuck in the openings. If he does try the way the slats are angled from wide to narrow at the bottom he should be able to slide out. Rather than the ones that just had the equal width openings the whole way. These allow the children to squeeze in and get stuck. Very happy with these gates and well worth the extra money to get a nice reliable playpen.We bought two separate sets (one gray/white and one blue/white). They fit together perfectly and create a huge, safe space for our 11-month-old. I was worried it would slide around the carpet but that hasn’t been an issue and still seems stable, even with him pulling himself up and standing against the sides. The suction cups obviously don’t work on the carpet but we left them on anyway.This thing has been well worth the expense so far - especially since I’m home with him all day and we spend a lot of time in it. He’s safe, and we’re no longer chasing him around the house. There’s plenty of room for our whole family in it and he’s contained without necessarily noticing that he’s boxed in.*UPDATE: Our son is now 2 and this has by far been the BEST investment in baby gear. We’ve bought 3 sets total and use them all over the house. We didn’t keep it in a square for long; instead, we made one long chain of panels and sort of tucked each end behind the couch so all of our furniture was surrounded. (Can’t find a good picture.) That extended the space tremendously and basically our whole living room set was inside the cage (with only the TVs or dangerous stuff outside the fence). Inside the gate was a safe space and by far made our lives easier the older he got.As he’s grown, we’ve continued to move panels around to different areas of the house, blocking off just what we don’t want him getting into (like the TV or the fireplace). We even moved 10 panels to his room and perfectly surrounded a double-size mattress (140x200 cm from Ikea). Now he has a big kid bed that he can’t climb out of, and there’s plenty of room for all 4 of our family members to get inside and read books before bed. I seriously can’t say enough about these gates. We’ve gotten 3 ourselves and gave one set as a gift.Read many reviews about other products with baby's foot getting stuck and screws coming loose or popping out. This product is just ten panels (one is a gate) that fit together with integrated plastic posts fitting into holes on the adjacent panel. Then there are large plastic cap pieces (no choke hazard) that clip over each joint and provide extra stability. It set up in five minutes, no tools needed, and could disassemble just as quickly. There were cheaper options out there, but the whole point is keeping your child safe and out of mischief, and so definitely worth the peace of mind. The play area is about 4.5 x 7 feet which is a good size. I thought I wanted bigger, but this works well, with space for a parent and multiple children to play inside.We purchased this playpen for our two Shih Tzu puppies. I really like this playpen. It looks really cute and it is well made. My puppies are currently 3 months old. They are not able to jump out of it, and I don’t anticipate they will be able to, even when they are older. I liked this far better than all the other playpens we saw that were made for dogs. They were all plain/boring looking. This one is extremely cute and it doesn’t look like an eyesore in our home. We also purchased the matching blue polka dot mat. If you are planning on purchasing the playmat for your pets, I would recommend purchasing the blue polka dot design (or any other light colored mat) because it will be much more easier to see any messes/accidents (urine, etc). We were able to secure pet water bottles onto the playpen our puppies using zip ties and it stays securely. I like the door feature, it is easy to open, and it’s allows our puppies to walk out on their own when we open the door. The lock is sturdy, our puppies weren’t able to open it by pushing or jumping on it. Like many others have mentioned, the door has two locks, one on the top of the door and one of the bottom. The one on the bottom doesn’t click into place when you close the door normally. You kinda have to push it in a bit. It’s not a deal breaker, and even if the bottom lock isn’t clicked, my puppies still aren’t able to open the door and escape. The play pen has suction cups on the bottom of each panel, which is supposed to suction onto your floor, but they don’t work at all. Many other reviewers have mentioned the same. The playpen is still sturdy without the suction cups, although it would have been nice if it actually worked. Overall I would highly recommmend this playpen.
